Free SharePoint image banner web part
Zen Image Banner adds a full-width, rotating image carousel to modern SharePoint Online pages. Editors manage the slides in a SharePoint list, so updating the banner never means editing the page.
What Zen Image Banner does
List-driven slides
Every slide is an item in a SharePoint list. Add, reorder or hide slides without touching the page.
Only what is active
The banner shows the top active slides by sort order, up to the number you choose.
Clickable slides
Give any slide a link and choose whether it opens in the same tab or a new one.
Images your way
Attach an image to the list item, or point to an image URL.
Timed rotation
Set how long each slide stays on screen and how tall the banner is.
Full-width ready
Works in full-width sections for edge-to-edge banners on home and hub pages.

A SharePoint administrator uploads the package to the tenant App Catalog and selects Deploy.
Add the app to your site
On your site, open Site contents, choose New, then App, and add the app.
Create the list
Create a SharePoint list with the columns shown below, or point the web part at an existing list.
Add it to a page
Edit a page, add the web part from the toolbox and set it up in the property pane.
Settings
| Setting | What it does |

| List name | The SharePoint list that holds your slides. |
| Maximum slides | How many active slides to show. The default is 3. |
| Rotation interval | How many seconds each slide stays on screen. |
| Banner height | The height of the banner in pixels. |
List columns
Create a list with these columns. You can attach an image to each item instead of using an image URL.

IsActive | Yes/No | Shows or hides the slide. |
SortOrder | Number | Display order, lowest first. |
Questions
Where do the banner slides come from?
From a SharePoint list on your site. Each list item is one slide, so content editors can update the banner without editing the page.
Can each slide link to a different page?
Yes. Add a link to any slide and choose whether it opens in the same tab or a new one.
Is this web part really free?
Yes. Zen Digital Systems provides Zen Image Banner free of charge to download and use in your organisation's SharePoint Online tenant.
Does it work with SharePoint Server on-premises?
It is built for SharePoint Online in Microsoft 365. If you need a version for SharePoint Server Subscription Edition, contact us and we can discuss it.
Can you customise it for our intranet?
